some advice please, if possible: I would like to record some precious albums to flac for use in an Olive HD renderer (could not afford a DS!) to access around the house via networking. My LP12 will run through a Pro-Ject USB V phono stage that I have just bought, into a MacBook using Audacity software - which has plenty of options (& is free). My cds have already been ripped to the Olive as flac files.
I was going to record at as high a quality as possible - however upon receipt of the Pro_ject I can now see that the analogue to digital converter is limited to 16bit format & 48kHz sampling; so I presume there is no point in setting up the Audacity quality settings for anything more, although 24bit & much higher sampling is available. Am I right in thinking this?
Thanks for any help in wading through the complexities of high resolution recording (Audacity manual refers to the foolishness of high sample rates!)
