DS doesn't work properly with Airplay

My KEDSM does not show up under Airplay on my several iThingies.
In order to get it working I need to reboot the DS. It will then work up to the point where I change the source, e.g. back to playlist.
Then it will disappear as an Airplay option and I have to go back to square one (reboot the DS), which is not convenient and I assume not intended. Not sure what is required for a device to be recognized as an Airplay target...

I tried all kinds of settngs but there aren't many. This is supposed to be plug n play ( or rather reboot and play

Anyone else have noticed this? Any ideas?

The KEDSM is connected via a Netgear WiFi Adapter, not Ethernet, with my router which works flawlessly. I just thought I mention this...
