New man to Old Linn. Seeking advice on LK1/LK280 and others

Hi,

New to forum and new to Linn (Old Linn). I've just taken ownership of an LK1/LK280 set, and added it to my eclectic collection of seperates. I like the sound and want to play with it a bit more, specifically by using the LK1 pre-amp to run two monoblock amps which I own, one per speaker. I'll admit that 80w per channel is a good output for any amp, but my speakers can create a 200w load if cranked up (which I have had no need to do yet......)

My problem is that not being an audio engineer, but an engineering consultant on large buildings, I'm really hesitant to jump straight in and solder up my own XLR conversion in case I screw up and fry something. I know how to make up balanced and unbalanced XLR's, but given the way that the LK1 has a twin output to the LK280, am I to assume that the output from the first LK1 XLR will be pins 1(0v), 2(Lchannel), 3(Rchannel) and on the other end (Chord SPA612 monoblock with 3 pin XLR input) will be pins 1(0v), 2(Lchannel), 3(leaveblank), and this to be replicated but switched to 2(Rchannel) on the other side?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I want to mix and match and see what the LK1 sounds like with the Chords. I'm a little light on pre-amps which is why I want to connect up the LK1 to a different power amp.

Here's my list of man-toys.

Cyrus 8 int/amp and 6s
Rotel RC980 and RB980
