Hi,
Following on from GaryL's 'DSM DELAY PRESET - MINIMUM VALUE' thread, I'm interested to know if the 50ms minimum latency setting for the PC Songcast driver could be reduced any further.
I can't get reliably usable PC Songcast at anything near 50ms over my wifi setup and understand that this is because of the limitations of wifi, but over my wired connection, 50ms is rock solid. The Songcast settings screen won't allow a value less than 50ms to be entered, but at 50ms there's still a noticeable lag. What are the chances of reducing the latency at all, and to the point where lag becomes unnoticeable?
As far as what is noticeable is concerned, for what it's worth, Wikipedia says 'For television applications, audio should lead video by no more than 15 milliseconds and audio should lag video by no more than 45 milliseconds. For film, acceptable lip sync is considered to be no more than 22 milliseconds in either direction.'
Thanks,
Matt
