Is anyone else frustrated at the difficulty of installing and removing the lugs on the input jacks on the 242s and other Linn speakers?
I've seen two types of Linn-supplied tools for this. One is a straight metal plate with three prongs on one end to fit into the central hole and the two notches on the lug. The other has an oval handle and two prongs. Both types are flimsy and become distorted. The type with the handle is even more flimsy than the straight type. Also, with the straight type leverage is impossible, and I have to use a vice grip or pliers to to loosen and tighten the lugs.
We need a sturdier tool. Ideally, it would have a round opening to fit over the lug with prongs inside. It would also have a good grip--maybe an L-shaped handle or just a fitting for a ratchet wrench.
Is there such a thing?
