Switching from Phono to coax results in no audio

I own a MDSM with a built in MC Phono board, FW is Davaar 11 (4.11.5). After a fine listenig session to a record i switch via remote or the button on the front panel to coax 1 (TOSLINK1), wich is the TV audio. If the TV is on, there is no audio output; if the TV is off and i switch it on - no audio. I have to switch the MDSM off and on again - it defaults to coax 1/TOSLINK1 and then there is audio. This mishbehaviour was not there in the earlier firmwares an i don't like it. The configuration is as follows:
