Sound

Simple really, in the old days you used to go to your music store and buy an album. Then later you went to your music store and bought a CD. Bearing in mind I haven't caught up with streaming yet, I now go on Amazon for a CD and...................oh hell, which version do I buy? Which is going to sound best? How do I know?

I'm confused.
