My Mimik is dying.

After years of service my Linn Mimik CD player is dying. It skips around on nearly all CDs and fails to pickup on some.

I am told the laser is dying and is now unobtainable.

I'm not ready to go down the DS route yet and have bought a Linn Ikemi CD player for more than is probably smart.

Is it compatible with my current Linn components, namely a Majik pre amp and LK100 amp or are there better amp/preamp combos
and do they justify spending even more money?.

I'm tempted by a Kairn pre amp as it has a built in phono amp for my Sondek, thus eliminating my dynavector phono amp
and preserving my all Linn system. My speakers are Keilidhs.

Am I crazy?
