Cheapest Upgrade? Great Vinyl!!!

Wanting to be able to improve the HiFi system but don't have the sort of cash to make a significant upgrade? Often finding that spending a large amount of money can sometimes only make a small improvement? Well that's often been my experience.

As we all know the source is the primary focus of any system. But the source should be the record itself. It doesn't matter how good the turntable is or how well it is set up the cartridge can only reproduce what it picks up.

The resurgence of vinyl in the last few years has caused more and more companies to invest in the LP. This has meant that new releases are coming out on vinyl as well as reissues. Remastering is still a bit hit and miss but getting better and better all the time. These are exciting times especially when you consider that vinyl was dead in the water a few years back and the only hope was to hunt around second hand record shops to find that illusive copy.
I have found some wonderful remasters or pressings in recent time that are vast improvement on the copy that I already had. For my money the best upgrade going and a darn sight cheaper than a new cartridge, amp etc.
Here are my to ten
1.Led Zeppelin 2 (Classic Records)

2. Genesis Foxtrot (Classic Records)

3. Kate Bush Never Forever (Toshiba Pressing)

4. Pink Floyd Dark Side Of The Moon (40th Anniversary)

5.The Beatles Sergeant Pepper's (EMI Remaster)

6. Genesis Nursery Crime (Classic Records)

7. Deep Purple Machine Head (Original Pressing)

8. Led Zeppelin 4 (Classic Records)

9. Genesis Trick Of The Tail (MFSL)

10. The Beatles Yellow Submarine (EMI 1998 Remaster)

What do you think?
