Generally speaking, how often do you find you have to return a vinyl copy to Amazon (or one of its sellers)?
Normally I clean a disk before first play and, if I do so then I tend not to return the disk if I subsequently find it to be defective. However, recently I'm finding that discs are just as likely to be warped on receipt and so I have taken to giving them a cursory play before cleaning. My copy of Suzanne Vegs's latest album was bad, but I've just got Brandi Carlile "Bear Creek" and the fist disk has about 8mm of warp on it - It's on it's way back!
If you receive a "new" copy of a disc from Amazon and it has a red dot on the inner then it is one that I have returned as substandard - perhaps we should all adopt this approach!
