Problem with Majik-i

Right, i'm on my second Majik-i from eBay and i've got a completely different problem. When playing my squeezebox through the tuner input, the music sounds perfect through my Keilidh's. As soon as I play my Axis through the MM input on the majik, the music instantly has less treble and a muddier bass - almost like you're listening to the music from a different room.

Any idea why this is? It was absolutely fine last night - I haven't changed anything.
