Ninkas - going aktiv without the binding post plate

Dear friends,
I got a pair of ninkas by ebay and the seller said me that the crossover configuration plates aren't provided (except the single wire passive one).
I believe that a tri aktiv confuration is the simplest possible, so it must be possible to cobfigure it in absence of any plate ... but the reality often differs from the logic.
Can someone confirm it's true?
