Hello
I'm very new to vinyl and have acquired many records from charity shops. I have a Linn Axis turntable with Akito arm which I bought in excellent condition on eBay - looks like it's never been used! Unfortunately I have found most records to sound 'crackly' - at this point I would say CD sounds better than vinyl (which i'm sure shouldn't be the case!). I just bought a brand new vinyl to see whether it was the charity shop vinyl causing the problem, but the brand new vinyl is possibly even worse. Can anybody please tell me why i;m having this problem?
The rest of my vinyl system consists of:
- Cambridge Audio 640a Amplifier
- Project Phono Box MKII
Thank you
