Craigslist scam rant....

I know there have been a couple of prior threads on this topic nad I am not sure there is much that can be done about this apart from closing Craigslist down completely, but the number of Linn scams is getting ridiculous. Virtually every one of the items currently on sale can be traced back to an earlier eBay auction or was for sale on as a second hand/ex-demo item on a respectable company website (right click, "Search Google for this image")....

I have taken to responding to these guys for fun asking for a photo of the serial number and where they are located. Invariably they are in the most inaccessible places and want a bank transfer rather than cash on collection. The last one who told me he was in the Shetland Islands I responded to saying "Wow, what an amazing co-incidence, I am in Lerwick next week on business! Can I stop by and pick up the unit, cash on collection?"

...needless to say that was the last I heard.

The character selling the Akurate DSM for £1500 had the same one on for £2500 a couple of weeks back. He claims to be in Irvine, helping clear out his uncle's stuff after a bereavement. I bet, if any of you contact him you will get an email which say the following :

"The Linn is still for sale.I'm located in Irvine at my uncle's place .He recently passed away and I have to sell his belongings.I prefer you will come to collect but if you want I can ship.
I'm waiting your email soon. "

Do these people think we were born yesterday?

Rant over....
