I have just fitted a new belt and mat (courtesy of Peter at Cymbiosis) to my LP12 and the results are astonishing. I took a little time to check the various orientations of both belt and mat and now my deck is just singing. I did also clean the belt pulley and inner platter which were both showing dirt from the belt but the improvement is massive. My 180gm version of Joe Cockers Sheffield Steel sounds amazing.
It just goes to show what a little TLC can do for the sound of your deck. I may now even turn my attention to the orientation of the fuses in the Shahinian Arcs....
